KNITTED LAMP
This a western version of the Japanese paper lamp.
The paper pasted over a wire structure is replaced by sliding knitted spool yarn through the wire structure. The tension between the spool knit and the wire holds the lamp shade in tension.
The aesthetic reflects that of the traditional Japanese paper lamp.
The materiality being knitted gives the lamp a softer and cozy look and feel.
